To continue with our Black and White theme.
Photographs that capture those poignant moments and provide memories that will last for years, can be a bit of a challenge at times, especially when photographing children.
Our lovely subjects Gracie and Cory in the grounds of Manor Hill House at their Mum and Dads Wedding.
As you can clearly see Gracie is up for the photographs from the start Cory takes a short while to get into the zone, “boys will be boys” but once there the images speak for themselves.

For as long as I can remember Photographers have discussed and debated the subject of what makes a good black and white image, in truth what works well for one image may not always work as well for another.
Over years we have used our knowledge experience and good old trial and error to help define what we think a good black and white image should look like.
For example a portrait image with a dark background and light foreground has good tonal ranges which minimizes the background and accentuates the subject in the foreground drawing the viewers eye to the subject.
The debate will continue to rumble on over which is best. Below an image of Sarah in colour and black and white What do you think would work for you?
